Creating and effective on-screen ad is easy if you follow the guidelines below:

LAYOUT RECOMMENDATIONS
• Keep your message simple. The written copy should be limited to 25 words on a 15 second ad
• Avoid complex details that will detract from your main message
• Text colors should have an extreme contrast with the backgrounds
• Do not use bright text, especially against bright or white backgrounds, it does not show well on screen
• Use bold fonts! Scripts and fine serif fonts are harder to read on screen
• Photographs should take up at least 25% of the screen, anything smaller cannot be seen clearly
• Logos should take up at least 15% of the screen for branding
• If possible, supply your logo in Vector format with text converted to outlines. A large, sharp
printout on white, non-textured paper is also acceptable
• Photos need to be sharp and clear
• if they are not, ACS reserves the right to refuse to use low resolution, poor quality photographs in an
effort to maintain quality in the Preflix program
• Keep the ads as simple as possible! All type and graphics should move slow enough to be read and seen
• All electronic files need to be in RGB color
• All text needs to remain inside the title safe area
• Absolutely no white or very light backgrounds on slide art
• Any required fonts must be supplied and in a Mac-compatible format
• All completed spots need to be in a 16:9 aspect ratio
